Project Description

Contemporary Kitchen

The grand hexagonal rooms at the entrance to our clients home were the inspiration for the angled doors of the huge island unit that houses the range cooked, integrated dishwasher, wine cooler and pull out bin, as well as five useful storage cupboards. The angular design was then carried through with angled pillars and glazed wall units placed at right angles with the window.

The ‘blue pearl’ granite compliments the modern stainless steel and black appliances whilst contrasting with the white marble floor. The whole kitchen is tied together with the pale warmth of the maple units.

The coffee machine has been built on the end of a run, surrounding a structural pillar and providing fresh coffee for an informal seating area. The space to the side of the coffee machine is therefore limited to a few inches. Rather than breaking the flow of units and covering this area with end panels, we provided a full height cupboard to house a racking system suitable for herbs and spices, matches and other smaller items that often get lost in the back of deeper cupboards.
