Mark Butterfield Furniture is proud to use only the finest quality, most durable materials and processes in the construction of our bespoke furniture, sourced as locally as possible. Everything we make for you is designed, produced and finished by our small team of talented craftsmen using hand tools, machines and processes in our Somerset workshop.
Our furniture is made to fit the exact measurements of your room, which means we can maximise every bit of space.
All our fixed joints are morticed, dowelled, or biscuited.
Our drawer boxes contain dovetailed joints and all our drawers are fitted with full extension soft close runners as standard.
Even the integrated waste bins we supply can be made to whatever size you require, handcrafted locally from stainless steel and mounted on solid wood bases with hidden full extension soft close runners. So whatever your waste or recycling needs, your bins will be a discrete part of the furniture; easy to clean, easy to empty, and built to last.
We only use top quality brass butt hinges, which can be self coloured, chrome, or satin chrome. All our hinges are sunk into both the door and the frame, so the weight of the door is evenly distributed onto the shoulder of the rebates, not pulling on the screws.
We don’t use materials such as chipboard or MDF, even for painted furniture, door panels or carcussing. All our furniture is manufactured using solid wood, or birch plywood, which can be hand painted or veneered in your choice of real wood.
