This lovely Oak and Hand Painted galley kitchen commences with a round peninsular unit, which protrudes into the glass entrance area. As you proceed into the kitchen, you are drawn into the heart of this period home with its exposed beams and quirky features.
The kitchen consists of mainly Oak units, interspersed with bright red and white hand painted wall units under an Oak Cornice that has been carefully scribed around the ceiling beams. The round peninsular unit has a solid Oak top, all other work surfaces are Valley White Granite, which has beautiful mauve flecks and veins picking up the colours of the hand painted french tiles.
At the end of the kitchen lies a large Pantry Cupboard with glazed top exposing its wealth of contents, which add to the busy, homely feel of this kitchen. The back of the pantry unit has been painted red, as have the 3/4-length spice racks fitted to the inside of each door. In the centre of the pantry is a Granite shelf at worktop height with an internal socket and plenty of space above so it could be used as an additional worktop space, or house items such as food processors or bread makers, allowing such items to be used in situ, without the need to lift or move these heavy items. Beneath the Granite worktop are three large drawers of varying depth. Each drawer runs on full extension soft close runners so you can pull each drawer right out to easily access every item rather than having things lost at the back of a cupboard.
The Eclectic feel of this kitchen comes from the real mix of colours ranging from the white cabinets, pale worktops and earthy tones of the flooring and oak woodwork, through the palest pinkish mauve of the handmade French wall tiles which snuggle beneath the brightest red of the wall cabinets with blue china plates above reaching right up to the ceiling. Then there’s the Modern black ovens, touch control induction hob, stainless steel sink, contemporary chrome tap and simple bar handles, alongside a vintage style metal hanging circular pan rack, an antique rug on the floor and old kettles perched on the beams.
