Below are images of hand painted bookcases in two very different homes. The first Hand Painted Bookcase shown here has been custom built around the entrance to the family snug, which helps accentuate the cosiness of this little room in our clients Exmoor cottage. Because there is no wall space as you enter the room, the light switch has been integrated into one side of the bookcase. This piece of furniture has ample space within the fully adjustable shelving which extends below the window sill, at which point, the bookcase deepens to provide cupboard space beneath. Fluted pillars and moulded decorative features add a touch of classy personality to the furniture which is finished with country style hand turned wooden knobs.
The second set of images show a pair of more classical bookcases made for a gracious Georgian Mansion Apartment. Again, these Hand Painted Bookcases flank the doorway to the room. This set of bookcases have however been designed with deep skirtings, a moulded cornice and break fronts stepping forward with impressive pediments containing roundel designs to complement the original woodwork and mouldings found within the property and complementing the classic Georgian look. Again these bookcases have ample space within the fully adjustable shelving in both the top sections, and cupboards beneath. A brass panelled door has been included in the right-hand bookcase allowing ventilation to flow around electronic equipment housed within, which is picked up with the brass door furniture.
Both these bookcases have been produced in solid tulipwood, with birch plywood interiors, lacquered. All drawer boxes are made of solid Oak, contain dovetail joints and run on full extension soft close runners.
