Seaside Kitchen

Overlooking the Jurassic Coastline, this Dorset cliff-top home has clean and simple shaker kitchen units and flat drawer fronts, paired with traditional, more elaborate mouldings on the cornice and island plinth.  This classic/contemporary design mix is echoed with the traditional white ceramic sink with drainer and chrome monobloc tap with levers, sitting comfortably beside the modern Miele Built-in Oven and Induction Hob. 

This bespoke kitchen includes an island unit containing a made to measure shelf for the customers stereo system in one end and a modest wine rack in the other. Useful cupboards and drawers have been built into the kitchen side of the island whilst a ‘secret’ double base cupboard with ‘push to open’ doors has been hidden behind the wide board tongue and groove paneling under the seating side of the island. Useful additional plug sockets have also been located underneath the seating area.

Appliances contained in this kitchen include a Miele oven and Siemens integrated full height Fridge Freezer and a Siemens integrated dishwasher and extractor. The main kitchen has been finished in the palest of cool grays, with the central island unit hand painted in a warm and complementary lilac. The colours of the kitchen although contrasting, echoing the natural colours found in pebbles on the jurassic coast.

Both the kitchen run and island are pulled together with 40mm solid Oak tops.  The uniformity with the choice of Oak continues with the solid wide oak floorboards and solid Oak wine rack.  The small rectangular wall tiles harp back to the traditional, but the modest simplicity of their design works well with the modern touches of the small satin chrome knobs on all the doors and drawers and the cool chrome pendant lighting.
